The Basic Cardiac Life Support with AED (BCLSAED) is an 8-hour course designed to teach the skills of CPR for both adults and infants who suffer from cardiac arrest. Participants will also be taught the essential skills of how to relief an obstructed airway for both adult and infant victims.
The course comprises of the following compulsory modules:
Module 1 : One-rescuer CPR
Module 2 : Automated External Defibrillator
Module 3 : Adult Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction
Module 4 : Infant CPR
Module 5 : Infant Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction
* Optional module of Assisted Breathing with Bag Valve Mask (BVM) will be taught for participants who are looking to apply the knowledge in a clinical setting.
What to expect:
Participants will learn essential techniques and procedures that can be applied when somebody goes into cardiac arrest. Experienced instructors who are trained in pre-hospital care will share their many interesting and valuable first hand experiences during the course.
Classes are conducted in a conducive learning environment. Through effective knowledge sharing by the course instructors, participants will acquire valuable life saving skills that they can use at workplace, schools, home and in the community.
Participants will be required to sit for a theory and practical assessment. Upon successful completion of all requirements, an accredited certificate will be given to all participants valid for 2 years.
